Product knowledge is the most important component of any sales role.
There is nothing worse than being in a situation where you can clearly see the Salesperson is new and has limited knowledge about a product. It’s often a deal breaker because you can’t get the answers you need to solve your problem.
You MUST have the answers in order to solve the problem.
You MUST know your product inside and out. Size, cost, colour choice, how to order, what it does, what it doesn’t do, who your competitors are, what their product does and doesn’t do.
Any Sales Manager who lets a new salesperson loose on a customer without ensuring they have full product knowledge is not worthy of their role.
It’s a proven fact that product knowledge increases sales.
It is also proven that product knowledge empowers you, increases confidence and makes you feel accomplished. This is turn increases sales.
So in a nutshell Product Knowledge = Sales
